Does everybody need to go for counseling? I feel it’s a waste of time another time waster from the hospitals around here.

The Importance of Counseling. According to the American Counseling Association “Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals.”
In terms of fertility treatment counseling has a very important role to play. The couples are offered counseling sessions during the treatment process and this helps to evoke transparency between the doctor and the patients. I must emphasize that it’s not a waste of time and resources.

Couples counselling can help you to explore more satisfying ways of interacting with your partner, as well as to stop fights before they get nasty. With these skills, you will be able to communicate more efficiently without each of you getting defensive.

The process of fertility treatment is usually a psychologically and emotionally trying time for most couples. Apprehension, suspense, conflict of emotions, these are the feelings couples go through while embarking on this great journey.
However, counselling helps prepare couples for what to expect on this journey. It helps to allay fears, smooth out issues, mitigate concerns and foster couple’s understanding of the procedures.
